Acceptable use.

This is the short, plain-English version of how CostMe is meant to be used. Most of it is common sense. Use the product for your own decisions and treat the people behind it well. The specifics below exist so everyone knows where the lines are.

What CostMe is for

CostMe is a personal tool for seeing the real cost of a purchase before you make it, and for talking it through with Amy. Use it for your own decisions, on your own account. That is the whole intended use, and almost everyone never needs to read past this line.

Don't abuse the service

Please do not scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from CostMe; do not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy how the product works; and do not try to overload, disrupt, or probe the service. CostMe and Amy are for genuine personal use, not for harvesting or re-building.

Don't resell or misuse it

Do not resell, sublicense, or repackage access to CostMe or Amy, and do not use the service for anything illegal or to harm others. Amy is a calm money advisor. Using her output to mislead, defraud, or impersonate is not allowed.

Treat Amy and support with respect

Amy and our support team are here to help. Harassment, threats, or deliberately abusive behavior toward Amy or anyone on our team is not acceptable, and we will act on it.

Don't attempt to break our security

Do not try to access accounts that are not yours, bypass plan limits, tamper with how billing or access controls work, or otherwise defeat the security of the service. If you believe you have found a genuine security issue, please tell us at security@costme.io rather than exploiting it.

We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, break the law, attempt to defeat our security, or harass our people. We always aim to act fairly, and to tell you why.
