Accountability and streaks: why a witness helps

Think about the last time you didn't want to do something but did it anyway because someone was waiting. A workout buddy. A team that counts on you. Showing up for someone else is often easier than showing up for ourselves.

Saving money is quiet and private, which makes it easy to quit with nobody watching. Accountability and streaks fix that by giving you something — or someone — to answer to.

Why a witness changes behaviour

When a goal is only in your head, breaking it costs nothing. Nobody knows. The moment a goal is visible — to a friend, or even just to a number on a screen — breaking it has a small sting. That tiny sting is enough to tip a lot of decisions.
