Customizing your profile and goals in CostMe

CostMe works out of the box, but it works better when it fits you. A few minutes in your profile makes the whole app feel like it's on your side.

CostMe works out of the box, but it works better when it fits you. A few minutes in your profile makes the whole app feel like it is on your side. Here is what you can set, and why each one helps.

Where your profile lives

Tap into the profile area of the app and you will find your settings in one place. This is where you tell CostMe a little about how you want it to behave.

What you can set

  • Your name. A small touch that makes the app feel personal instead of a cold calculator.
  • Light or dark theme. CostMe comes in both, so pick what is easy on your eyes.
  • Your price line. Set the dollar amount below which you will not bother running the math. (More on that in setting a price threshold.)

Why goals matter

A goal turns “save more” into something you can actually aim at. When CostMe knows what you are working toward, every resisted buy feels like a step closer instead of just a number going up. It gives your savings total a finish line.

How to pick a good goal

  1. Make it real. A trip, a cushion, a debt to clear.
  2. Make it specific. A number beats a vague wish.
  3. Make it yours. Borrowed goals are easy to drop.

You can change it any time. Life shifts, and your goal can shift with it.

Let Amy in on it

Once your goal is set, Amy, the money coach inside CostMe, can talk you through an urge in terms of what you actually want. A reminder of your goal in the heat of the moment is often all it takes.

The takeaway

Spend five minutes on your profile. Set your name, your theme, your price line, and a goal worth chasing. The more CostMe knows about you, the more it can nudge you the right way.

This covers CostMe's profile settings and goals, so the calculator, vault, and savings tracking all line up with what you're actually working toward.
